Kit and Caboodle

Having survived our first trip it was obvious that we would both enjoy canoeing and camping so it was time to improve the kit beyond the current 'My 1st Canoe' level. After much deliberation and a little research the 'Water Quest 156' from Thame Canoes was chosen, a one piece moulded plastic canoe with three moulded seats, all with integrated cup holder. The center seat incorporating a cool box and a small waterproof compartment.

Before ordering I decided to check on ebay to see if I could bag a bargain, and lo! there was one for sale at £150 cheaper than a new one and in an 'as new' condition, result! And, what's more it was quite literally one street away from where I was due to be the next day in my lorry so collection was sorted.
So, we were now the joint captains of a fine vessel (even if the cool box in the middle set bore more than a passing resemblance to a porta-loo.) The new canoe would be named 'Millie Canoe II' or, for simplicity, just 'Millie'
A short trip on the local canal to try it out was beckoning.
